KANGNAM JEVISCO CO.,LTD has established a joint venture with SHIN-A T&C CO.,LTD and entered to the battery market for electric vehicles
The leading company of eco-friendly paints KANGNAM JEVISCO CO.,LTD. has cooperated with SHIN-A T&C the company that procures high-notch technology of electronic materials; and advanced to the business for secondary cell material.
A joint venture of ‘KS ADVANCED MATERIALS CO.,LTD.’ has been established based on the distribution-mass production technology of KANGNAM JEVISCO and the carbon nano-tube (CNT) and Graphene distribution technology of SHIN-A T&C. A production plant will be built exclusively for secondary cell conductor and electrode additives within Haman plant of KANGNAM JEVISCO located at Haman, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea.
It is scheduled to complete the construction of the production plant for conductor at the end of 2023. In the first stage, the company will ensure the annual production capacity of 2,000 tons and expand to the annual production capacity of 6,000 tons through additional investment in equipment. The new joint company will start the mass production of the bipolar MWCNT slurry for developed secondary cell, the cathode TWCNT/SWCNT slurry, and the SWCNT coating solution for display. The company has procured a new site to build Plant No. 2 within the area of Haman plant in order to expand stable supply ability continuously for rapidly growing battery market for electric vehicles.
On the last April 12, both companies have held a signing ceremony and an inaugural meeting for the board of directors in Seoul office of KANGNAM JEVISCO CO.,LTD. In order for the successful advancement of the business for secondary cell material by KS ADVANCED MATERIALS CO.,LTD, both companies decided to combine their core competencies, complete the early establishment of the production plant, and emerge as a new powerful competitor in the secondary battery material market based on differentiated technologies.
