KANGNAM JEVISCO, praised for color-related thesis by AIC 2017.10.31


▶ Industry first to present study on characteristics and uniqueness of architectural paint colors.


KANGNAM JEVISCO was praised by industry leaders when it presented a thesis titled ‘Analysis of color characteristics for developing architectural color book’ in the ‘2017 Jeju International Academic Symposium’ held by AIC (Association international de la couleur) on October 17.


AIC, also known as the Olympics of colors, consists of the regular meeting every four years and the annual conference. In the regular meeting in 2017, it was held in Jeju island for the first in Asia. Total 571 academic theses have been submitted from 43 countries, hence the most countries took part among AIC academic symposiums in the last 50 years and recorded as the symposium with the most number of theses submitted.


The thesis titled ‘Analysis of color characteristics for developing architectural color book’ presented by KANGNAM JEVISCO has been written based on the study for producing ‘Master Color Collection’, an architectural color book launched in April. The company is the first to submit a related thesis as a paint producer in Korea to the AIC meeting, and the thesis has been designated as an oral presentation, which proves global recognition for color study by KANGNAM JEVISCO.


Min-gi Kim, the team leader of color design team at KANGNAM JEVISCO said “We need active study in the paint industry toward color characteristics, analysis method and uniqueness in buildings” and “JEVISCO plans to continue more in-depth follow-up studies based on the study results.”
