KCI develops BPF epoxy powder coating for steel pipes 2015.09.22

At present, ductile cast iron pipes, steel pipes and fittings are usually being coated with Bisphenol A (BPA) which is an epoxy powder coating widely being used for corrosion prevention in addition to coating, but this type of coating has been somewhat controversial as it can induce disorders and mutations in the human body due to endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

PAKMEL EPF#3800 HK GRAY has physical properties that are superior to BPA powder coatings which are so harmless to humans that they can be used even for potable water pipes. As these kinds of epoxy coatings are now beginning to be used more frequently in the cast iron pipe market, it’s expected that positive reviews regarding their use will soon follow.
